Colin A. Ross is a psychiatrist of Canadian origin and professional training. Ross went to medical school in Edmonton, Alberta and did his psychiatry training in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He moved to Dallas, Texas in the early 1990s.
Ross specializes in Multiple Personality Disorder and has written a number of different books, and many research papers including publications in the American Journal of Psychiatry. Presently Ross works in the Ross Institute for Psychological Trauma, a hospital in the Dallas area. Ross has a program which mostly treats people with Multiple Personality Disorder and other related disorders.
Most of the people the Ross Institute treats describe very traumatic and abusive childhoods.
In the past Ross was contractor of psycho-pharmaceutical companies; he has been called to participate in neuroleptic trials and continues to publish in the American Journal of Psychiatry.
