The Disability Rights Commission (DRC) is an independent non-departmental public body set up by the British Parliament to end discrimination against disabled people. The Equality Bill would replace the DRC with a new Commission for Equality and Human Rights with powers across all equality law (race, sex, disability, religion and belief, sexual orientation and age).
The DRC is sponsored as an NDPB by the Department of Work and Pensions.
Campaigners[]
The actress and public speaker Julie Fernandez is a well known supporter of the DRC.
