ISFJ (Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging) is one of the sixteen personality types from personality type systems based on C.G. Jung, which best known are the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Keirsey Temperament Sorter and Socionics.

Referring to Keirsey ISFJs belong to the temperament of the Guardians and are called Protector

In Socionics ISFjs belong to the club of the socials, the gamma Quadra and are named "Conservator" or Theodore Dreiser. Another notation for ISFj is ESI (which is an acronym for Ethical-Sensory Intratim, referring to the cognitive functions).

Descriptor[]

The ISFJ belongs to the SJ temperament and is heavily focused on serving other people.  They lead with Si which is about the tried-and-true, routine, the past and tradition.  ISFJs crave stability and despise ambiguity. Their auxiliary is Fe which is all about other people's feelings, group harmony and helping other people. Si + Fe together make the ISFJ a very selfless person. The same can be said for their extroverted cousin, the ESFJs. Contrary to popular opinion, Fe makes the ISFJ slightly more open to other people for the sake of harmony.  The Fe, though strong, can be trouble for the ISFJ as they may bend over backwards for others and not get anything in return.  Because they are introverts and because they hate conflict, they may have trouble speaking up and standing up for themselves, making them easy prey to be manipulated at times. Their tertiary is Ti which is about subjective logic and their inferior is Ne which all about the possibilities.
