The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) is an international professional organisation for doctors and other health professionals involved in the diagnosis, treatment and scientific study of pain, as well as education and training in the field of pain medicine[1]. The IASP was founded in 1973. Its secretariat is based in Seattle, Washington. It publishes the scientific journal Pain[2]. The IASP aims to develop a common terminology and structural approach to pain-related symptoms and conditions[3] [4].
