Transpersonal Psychology: Integral · Esoteric · Meditation
Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, born in London in the year 1953, has followed the Naqshbandiyya-Mujaddidiyya Sufi path since the age of 19, after meeting Irina Tweedie, author of Daughter of Fire: A Diary of a Spiritual Training with a Sufi master. He become Tweedie's successor and a Sheikh in the Naqshbandiyya Sufi Order. His career has also specialized in the area of dreamwork, integrating the ancient Sufi approach to dreams with the insights of modern depth psychology, and has authored several books on the subject. Llewellyn has lectured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe on Sufism, Jungian psychology, and dreamwork. Vaughan-Lee's work makes efforts to distinguish between authentic spiritual development from states of ego disintegration that are more akin to mental illness. As such, his teaching themes fall within the range, not only of his Sufi Order, but of both Jungian and Transpersonal psychology as well. In 1991 he moved to Northern California and set up the Golden Sufi Center to make available his lineages teachings.
