Nalini Ambady is a social psychologist. She is currently a Professor at Stanford University in the Department of Psychology. She earned her Ph.D. in social psychology from Harvard University in 1991 under the guidance or Robert Rosenthal, with whom she researched thin slice judgments. She is a leading expert on nonverbal behavior and interpersonal perception.[1] Dr. Ambady is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Psychological Association, and the Association for Psychological Science. In 2012, her leukemia, which had previously gone into remission in 2004, returned.[3][4] Her plight has sparked a global effort to increase participation in bone marrow registries among South Asian ethnic groups.[5]
