Children[]

While there is some controversy regarding the assessment and diagnosis of personality disorders in childhood, there is growing consensus that such assessments can be made[1] . Instruments and procedures that may be considered include the following:

  1. The Adolescent Psychopathology Scale (ASP; W.M. Reyonlds, 1998).
  2. Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children, Version 2.3 (Shaffer, et. al., 1996)
  3. Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Personality Disorders (SCID-II, First, Gibbon, Spitzer, Williams, & Benjamin, 1997)
  4. Minnesota Multipahsic Personality Inventory -- Adolescent
  5. Millon Adolescent Clinical Inventory
