Physique is the overall structure and anatomical organization of the body and the term is usually mainly applied to humans.
Historically, presumably because of the easy availability of data, attempts were made to associate obvious physical features with psychological characteristics (for example as in phrenology). Combinations of body height, weight and size have been grouped in various ways and differences in physique were then associated with personality characterisitcs. See Somatypes.
