Welcome and Introductions

I thought it would be a good idea to leave a link here to our userpages and introduce ourselves. Wiki's are built by their communities so its very good to get to know one another.

I am Mostly Zen, real name Tom Michael, and I am an undergraduate Psychology Student living in Birmingham, England. I stumbled onto this site because I use Wikipedia a lot, and decided that it is an excellent idea. Lifeartist has an excellent vision here, which I'm sure will eventually work.

These Wiki things might seem a bit scary at first, but eventually I'm sure they will be far more widely used as the potential for sharing knowledge and skills is very high. Wikipedia has been an overwhelming success, and I'm sure that this Wiki can also be, if we make it work :) Mostly Zen 00:12, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

What do you want to See on the Psychology Wiki

Please let us know what you want to see on the Wiki. That way we can achieve a kind of consensus of opinion, and then set tasks for the community to achieve.

Cleaning up and making one article a first rate Example for how the site should work

We have copied much information to the site and are already the 5th Largest Wiki overall. At this point it might be a good idea to take stock and clean up one article to an excellent standard, so that it can be used as an advertisement for the potential of the Psychology Wiki, in order to attract more interest, as well as as an example for how to lay out future articles.

Following discussion with Lifeartist, we thought that the best article to do this for would be Depression. So... we need to make Depression and all directly related links really, really good. If we work together it shouldn't be too hard.

Tasks for Psychology Wiki (overall)

1) Provide a clear structure for the whole wiki project.
2) Create portal pages or templates that easily link different areas
3) Continue to add content from Wikipedia
4) Improve the existing articles to an academic standard
5) Fully reference these.
6) link references to fulltext copies of the articles where possible
